Take the Limits Off

Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel. They did not remember His power: The day when He redeemed them from the enemy…”

Welcome 2026!

The year came in and just like that we are at the end of January. Has the month ended well for you? If not, have you forgotten the promises of God? Do you not remember how He redeemed you from the enemy? Or are you limiting Him just like the Israelites did?

Sometimes we may feel limited in our walk with the Lord. Limited in fulfilling our God given assignment. Limited in our marriage, singleness, or even on our job, etc. You may feel like I’m only one person what can I do to make a difference. I believe it is time to take the limits off and step into the fullness of all that God has provided. To fulfill all that He has called us to. Let’s start this year with high expectations and no limits.

What Are Expectations?

Simply put, expectations are beliefs that come from a person’s thought process when examining evidence. An example of this is to expect God to do exactly what He says He will do based on the evidence in His Word (Joshua 21:45; 2 Corinthians 1:20; 2 Peter 1:4). When we center on God’s Word, our expectations will never fail to be met.

“The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy” – Psalm 19:7

You Are Not Average

We need to see ourselves as God sees us. As a child of the King, there should be a difference in how we look and act as compared to those who do not know Christ. We may experience things in our lives but God made us more than what we are experiencing. There should be evidence of who we are in CHRIST! In the way we speak and the way we live! We shouldn’t be living mediocre, average lives because of circumstances.

God didn’t make us to be average. He made us special. If you are average that means that you are not good or bad, you are lukewarm.

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” – Jesus in Revelation 3:16 NKJV

Are you stale, stagnant? Do you want God to see you as average, to the point that it makes Him want to vomit. NO, of course not. Well, let’s take the limits off God!

Faith Takes the Limits Off of God

We can limit God by our small thinking. God Himself is limitless regardless of what we think. But as far as our lives go, we will experience the deliverance of God only as far as we believe (Matthew 9:29). Those who believe God doesn’t heal will not be healed. Those who believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not for today will not receive it. God will not force anything on us. We must believe it for ourselves.

Faith takes the limits off God. Unbelief puts limits on God. It’s according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Remembrance is one thing that removes these limits (Psalm 78:42). Our memory is a powerful force that keeps our heart sensitive to the things of God.

Don’t Be Like Everyone Else

Deuteronomy 28:13 NKJV says, “And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.”

When asked the question, how are you doing today? I answer, “I’m Blessed, (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV) Healthy (Matthew 9:12 NIV) and Excited” (Psalm 9:1-2)! Everything may not be perfect in my life, but I stand on the word of God every time. People may say it’s flu season, how about saying its wellness season for a believer. Who said that just because someone has a cold that you will catch it? They can catch your health and wholeness. Do you really want to be like everyone else with the same diseases and the same financial and emotional problems?

Psalm 78:19 NKJV says, “Yes, they spoke against God: They said, ‘Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?'”.

“Anytime we say ‘Can God…’ we are speaking against God. There are no limits on God except the limits we impose by our unbelief.” ~ Andrew Wommack

Stop limiting God by thinking small, average and mediocre. Raise your expectations this year and take the limits OFF!
